When adults hurt or bully each other then this is domestic abuse. It may happen between adults who are in the same family and they may be married or be girlfriend or boyfriend. The adults may live together or they may live apart from each other. Children and Young People may see scary things happening or they may be hurt or bullied themselves. They may be caught in between the conflict.

Domestic abuse may include: adults fighting or arguing a lot, hitting, calling the other person names, saying things to make them feel bad or to frighten them, making them do sexual things they don’t want to do or taking away someone’s money or not letting them have friends.

If you are worried that you are experiencing domestic abuse then you may want to talk to an adult you really trust. This may be a teacher, Doctor, the Police, a family member.
